Children Believe is committed to helping children overcome challenges to education during the outbreak.
As schools in Canada continue to close and re-open due to COVID-19 restrictions, children we help around the world are struggling to learn in a safe environment. In fact, 320-million students were locked out of schools worldwide at the end of 2020, according to the United Nations.
These children’s education — and future — is at risk. The United Nations has issued pleas in the past month, urging countries to send their children back to school where they can access support, food, safety and learning.
At Children Believe, we’re working with our local partners in Africa, Asia and the Americas to provide education kits and access to formal education online. We also continue to work with school administrators to ensure they’re ready to educate children safely.
“Nearly 820-million children do not get basic handwashing facilities in schools making them vulnerable to COVID and other diseases,” noted a summer 2020 UNICEF report.
Give a COVID-19 student safety gift today. Equip schools in our programs with clean water, toilets, wash basins and hand sanitizer to prevent the spread of COVID as children begin to return to class.
