Toronto Raptor encourages children to reach for their dreams

Watch Pascal Siakam’s NBA Award acceptance speech

We’ve been inspired by Pascal Siakam — of the 2019 NBA championship team Toronto Raptors — who recently won the Most Improved Player NBA Award.

The Cameroon native had wise words for children. “I know it’s hard, and it feels like it’s not possible. I just want to tell you to believe in your dreams, and go out there and work hard for it. And, I promise you it will happen.”

That is the message instilled in the children around the world our supporters help. Our goal is to break down barriers keeping them from an education that could change their future.

Watch to see how dreams can become reality.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
