Children Believe response to COVID-19

By Dave Wilson, interim CEO, ceo@childrenbelieve.ca

An update about the health of the children and families our supporters help

The face of COVID-19 continues to change at a rapid pace in Canada and around the world, but we wanted to let you know we’re committed to making sure the children and families you help are healthy and safe.

Thankfully, as of March 16, we don’t have any reports of children diagnosed with COVID-19 in Children Believe-support communities.

In our best efforts to reduce the spread of the virus, our global team is engaging in critical information sharing in line with recommendations from the World Health Organization. We’re distributing soap, hand sanitizer and other critical supplies to our partners, health workers and members of communities around the world.

We’re also continuing to teach children and their families around the world about hygiene, especially handwashing, and disease prevention.

In our offices, we’ve suspended all nonessential travel within the countries we work (including Canada), and we’re instituting a work-from-home policy in regions where such precautions are recommended to reduce the spread of the virus and reduce the strain on our healthcare systems.

With that in mind, child progress reports and correspondence may be delayed. What remains the same is our committed donor-relations’ team. They’ll still be here to answer your questions. Feel free to call (1.800.263.5437) or email us (askus@childrenbelieve.ca), or check childrenbelieve.ca for updates.

In the meantime, thank you for your ongoing support and prayers for the children you help dream of a better tomorrow. We wish the same for you. Take care and keep safe and healthy, surrounded by those you love.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
