A troubling look at child marriage

Watch and learn about a practice we’re working to end that’s harming too many children

Every day 39,000 girls marry, reports the United Nations, and the video below paints a dramatic picture of what that really looks like.

“Her parents were a problem in the beginning, but I totally won them over,” says the actor in the video. “It’s costing me a fortune.”

At Children Believe, we’re committed to ending child marriage. We work in communities where we educate adults about the dangers of child marriage, and help children learn their rights, so they can speak up for change. Learn more about our work in this area at facebook.com.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.
