A day to mark youth engagement for global action

As we mark International Youth Day, August 12, support youth in making positive change for the future

Youth today are standing up for their rights, the rights of their neighbours and the health of the planet. At Children Believe we encourage them to be engaged in changing their future for the better, which is why it’s fitting that this week’s International Youth Day is themed “Youth Engagement for Global Action.”

“I call on leaders and adults everywhere to do everything possible to enable the world’s youth to enjoy lives of safety, dignity and opportunity and contribute to the fullest of their great potential,” says António Guterres, the secretary-general for the United Nations.

Indeed, today’s youth are involved in community-building, as active and engaged citizens. And, it’s important to partner with parents, teachers and community members to champion the voice of the child.

You can help inspire a young person by sponsoring one today. Learn more about how we work in our programs to partner with children for change.

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.

About Childfund Alliance

A member of ChildFund Alliance, Children Believe is part of a global network of child-focused development organizations working to create opportunities for children and youth, their families and communities. ChildFund helps nearly 23-million children and their families in 70 countries overcome poverty and underlying conditions that prevent children from achieving their full potential. We work to end violence against children; provide expertise in emergencies and disasters to ease the harmful impact on children and their communities; and engage children and youth to create lasting change and elevate their voices in decisions that affect their lives.
