Graça Machel: we’re not doing enough to end world hunger

How CCFC and the global community is addressing an important issue

The world is not doing enough to end world hunger by 2030 as outlined in the United Nations’ global goals. That is the fear of Graça Machel, Nelson Mandela’s widow and renowned humanitarian.

“We are not doing enough on the pace and level of investment, and we’re not going to get there,” she told the Thomson Reuters Foundation, following her recent lecture at the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome.

In fact, world hunger is on the rise, reports to the World Health Organization, noting more than 820-million people are hungry and more than 150-million children are stunted in a 2018 joint report, The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World.

At Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC), we’re committed to joining with the global community to end the cycle of poverty. We address challenges people in need face and help create lasting change.
