Logos, like people, have personalities.

Ours says a lot about who we are and where we come from. And, it’s a lot like our global community: down-to-earth, purposeful and (seriously!) uplifting.

How our logo has evolved to symbolize dreams of kids around the world

Children Believe wasn’t always our name. More than 60 years ago, we were founded as Christian Children’s Fund of Canada by a Presbyterian minister and a missionary who rescued 142 orphans under fire during the Second Sino-Japanese war.

Fast forward to 2019. We adopted our new name to help children of all faiths understand we believe in them — and their dreams, too.

We introduced a new logo featuring an image of a child reaching for the stars and the bold wordmark you see today. Vibrant purple was chosen for the child to honour our brand heritage.

Our logo gets refresh to highlight how we help kids break barriers to education

This year we updated our logo with a refreshed take on the child image so many folks have come to love. It continues to highlight our aspirational dreams, but with a bigger focus on education.

The addition of a backpack symbolizes Children Believe’s work to create greater access to education — inside and outside of classrooms.

The school bag we’ve added says a lot, too. Tucked within school bags are tools children need to change their lives and the world. They carry clues about the engineers, teachers and entrepreneurs kids were born to be.

And, the three stars?

The stars represent our global community’s determination to help children be fearless in making their dreams come true. This includes their aspirations for themselves, their families and their larger community (locally, nationally and beyond).

So, there you have it!

About Children Believe

Children Believe works globally to empower children to dream fearlessly, stand up for what they believe in — and be heard. For 60+ years, we’ve brought together brave young dreamers, caring supporters and partners, and unabashed idealists. Together, we’re driven by a common belief: creating access to education — inside and outside of classrooms — is the most powerful tool children can use to change their world.

About Childfund Alliance:

A member of ChildFund Alliance, Children Believe is part of a global network of child-focused development organizations working to create opportunities for children and youth, their families and communities. ChildFund helps nearly 23-million children and their families in 70 countries overcome poverty and underlying conditions that prevent children from achieving their full potential. We work to end violence against children; provide expertise in emergencies and disasters to ease the harmful impact on children and their communities; and engage children and youth to create lasting change and elevate their voices in decisions that affect their lives.
